National Series Final - Innerleithen

After all the wet weather we have had recently the last national changed venues at the last minute and was moved to the all weather long time venue of Innerleithen. Innerleithen is always a favourite of mine as I have been racing there for years and the tracks are always fun. Super tight and twisty through the trees all the way down. After a fairly dry week of weather at home I was hoping to be able to take the spikes off my bike but sadly they were needed as the track was still pretty muddy under the trees !

It was a fun track to ride, however it was just so dark in the trees it was so hard to make out where the track was going in places. I had a few very close encounters with a few trees, but managed to stay on my bike. I think that was the theme for the weekend as my race run was fairly sketchy from the start. However it was good enough to take the win at this final round of the series ahead of Helen Gaskell and Katy Curd. Having only done 3 of the 5 nationals his year I was not in contention for the overall series. Helen Gaskell took the series just ahead of Katy Curd. It’s been great having such good competition at the Nationals this year.

It’s now time for some time off before the winter training commences and may be a few winter races !! Thanks to all my sponsors and everyone who has helped me throughout this season. See you next year Tracy
