SDA Round 2 – Fort William

The Scottish series is always one of my favourites as the tracks are always great and the organisation is fantastic whilst still keeping a really good family feel to the event. The long trip up to Fort William was certainly worth it as the weather was fantastic all weekend ! It’s not often you can say that for Fort William. It was only the second week that the track had been open, so it was still quite loose and rough due to the fact that it had not rained for 4 weeks up there so the ground was solid !

It was great training for me and really helped to set my bike up and get everything feeling good on this track. I always forget just how physically demanding this track is and by race run time I was really feeling it my hands and arms….the good old Fort William pains !! You have 2 race runs at the SDA races and I changed a few things between the runs and managed to improve on my second run by 10secs, to take first place with a time of 5.35min.

It was a good weekend to build on and next week I have another UK national in Scotland, so it will be another opportunity to get even more dialled before the next round of the Wold Cup Series in Andorra.
